This song is a companion to Dear Jeffrey.
Background
Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to release the government files related to the investigation and conviction of Jeffrey Epstein on sex trafficking charges.
Two conspiracy-mongers—Kash Patel, currently the FBI Director, and Dan Bongino, Deputy Director of the FBI—consistently, routinely, and loudly demanded the release of the “Epstein Files.” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a television interview that the Epstein Files were sitting on her desk awaiting review, implying they would be released soon. Right-wing media figures Tucker Carlson and Charlie Kirk have also said the files should be released.
But after Bondi informed Trump he was mentioned in the files many times, all of a sudden, the DOJ says nothing to see, and by the way, we won’t be releasing the files.
Politico has published a timeline of the coverup.
Lyrics
We’re done with your whispered secrets, your transparent lies…
We watched you build a mountain out of binders for display
You shouted “transparency,” then quietly slipped away
Promises in headlines, all that hype just turned to dust
When the truth let slip in a tweet by Elon Musk
We see right through the theater, the smoke and mirrors fail
Our voices rising louder—we will prevail
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the damn files.
They swore the story's coming, “Every page for all to read”
Then backroom whispers agree to hide the dirty deeds
An unsigned DOJ memo locked the files out of reach
But the trauma in those pages scream for release
Tucker Carlson says release the files
Charlie Kirk says release the files
Kash Patel said release the files (until he didn't)
Dan Bongino said release the files (until he didn't)
Pam Bondi said release the files (until she didn't)
Donald Trump said release the files (until he was in them)
So say all of us: Release the files
Release the Epstein Files!
No more hiding in your distractions, no more safe-space in your lies
We’ll keep pounding these drums till the last redaction dies
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the damn files.
Promises like matches, they burn us every time
We light the flame of justice—watch the darkness subside
No more silent compliance, no more empty alibis
We’re the thunder in the streets—we're righteous, we're right
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the Epstein Files,
Release the damn files.
Release the files…
Release the files…
What have you got to hide?
